Network Planning Problems in 3G/4G Wireless Systems

چکیده
Wireless network planning is a very complex process, the result of which influences on the success of network operators. A poorly planned network cannot achieve the required Quality of Service. It also involves extra costs and fewer benefits for its network operator. Actually, wireless network planning deals with a large number of different aspects. Since there has been evolution in wireless communications towards the third generation (3G) and forth generation (4G) wireless systems some Core Network planning problems for the 3G wireless networks and some Radio Access Network planning problems for the 4G wireless networks are discussed in this paper. The problem of performance estimation of UMTS Release 5 Internet Protocol Multimedia Core Network System (IM-Subsystem) nodes is considered in details.

متن کاملScenarios and business models for 4G in Europe
This paper investigates the main trends and uncertainties that will define fourth generation mobile systems and services (4G) in Europe. It outlines two divergent visions on 4G: the so-called “immediate” 4G vision, consisting of wireless local area networks (WLANs) combined with other wireless access technologies, competing with 3G in the short term, and the so-called “linear” 4G vision, in whi...
